Research Overview
My interests have been in studying the acute and chronic physiological, endocrinological, and molecular changes in msucle with resistance training with different interventions, populations, and nutritional supplementation. This has encompassed women's health, youth fitness, aging, sports, and special populations. Improving the execise prescription process and optimizing training adaptations for health, fitness and performance has been a goal of my research program. In addition, a host of sports medicine studies have been part of a line of research to better understand recovery and repair of tissue and improve performance related aspects in various populations related to orthopedic and injury prevention.
