Research Overview
Dr. Cornman’s research interest focus on HIV risk reduction and medication adherence. She is currently directing several HIV prevention research projects which involve implementation, dissemination, and evaluation of the Options intervention (a clinician-initiated intervention that promotes HIV risk reduction among HIV-positive patients in clinical care). Dr. Cornman joined CHIP from AIDS Project Hartford where she was the Assistant Director in charge of prevention. In addition to supervising all HIV prevention programs, she designed, implemented, and evaluated two HIV risk reduction interventions for people living with HIV: (1) Project M for HIV+ gay and bisexual men, and (2) Project Athena for HIV+ women with substance abuse issues. In addition, Dr. Cornman has co-produced three award-winning HIV prevention videos.
