Research Overview
Dr. Elizabeth Anderson has worked clinically and conducted research with persons with HIV/AIDS for more than 12 years. Her research focus is on factors influencing coping with HIV including nausea, anxiety, health care relationships, and medication adherence. She was a co-investigator for four years on an NIH-funded interventional research to reduce high risk behaviors among imprisoned women at risk for HIV. She also has extensive experience in phenomenological research with community-based persons living with HIV/AIDS. Dr. Anderson is currently developing a grant with William Barta, Ph.D., to investigate an intervention to reduce anxiety and improve quality of life of community-based persons living with HIV/AIDS.
