Research Overview
Dr. Jackson joined the Division of Mental Health Services and Policy Research in 2007. Dr. Jackson has worked in the field of mental health services research for over a decade, conducting policy-relevant research that informs best practices for services delivered in the public sector. He has worked on a vast range of projects, all in the public setting, including randomized clinical trials of antipsychotic medications, studies of the delivery of integrated psychiatric and substance abuse treatment, quality improvement projects looking at prescribing patterns and monitoring of metabolic side effects, helping the NYS Office of Mental Health evaluate the services delivered under Project Liberty, and helping the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene evaluate the implementation of Early Intervention services for children with developmental delays. Dr. Jackson is also interested in best practices for analyzing and presenting data from research studies as well as secondary data sources.
