Research Overview
Currently, Ms. Redding serves as the project manager on two grants; working on the development of an ART program with the Ugandan People’s Defense Force (UPDF), and a prevention for positives program with military personnel in Mozambique. Both programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Defense HIV/AIDS Prevention Program as part of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Formerly, Ms. Redding served as the project manager for a multi-site, NIH-funded antiretroviral therapy adherence project for PLWHA, which is currently following over 500 study participants. In 2002, Ms. Redding was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, where she conducted a study about perceptions of HIV risk among educated women in Senegal. Ms. Redding has a passion for local government and public service and served as a member of the Mansfield Town Council for three years and has volunteered with various HIV/AIDS organizations.

Her emerging research interests include:
• The intersections of the military, poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa
• Collective violence (civil wars, genocide) as a major source of morbidity, mortality and ill-health
• The framing of HIV as a security issue and its treatment as a strategic interest to the developed world
